 Nicole Geesey, PE
Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Geesey is a proven leader and visionary.  She started Auspex Technologies in 2001 to focus on delivering premier solutions to government and business customers.  With a diverse background in management consulting, mechanical engineering, laboratory design and government services, she has worked at industry leading companies such as Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Jacobs Engineering and The Nielsen Wurster Group.  Ms. Geesey is a licensed Professional Engineer, holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and is a registered member of the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveying (NCEES). 
 
Dale Geesey, CISSP, PMP
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Geesey currently leads efforts supporting the introduction of new technologies into government agencies.  His primary focus is currently the introduction of advanced technologies to support Health IT initiatives within the Department of Veterans Affairs and has been active in the Internet2 community.  He has worked closely with the DoD in their IPv6 transition activities and recently supported the development of the DoD's IPv6 Transition Plan and response to congressional inquiries regarding the DoD's transition to IPv6. He directly supported the DoD IPv6 Transition Office and the Army's IPv6 transition team in the development of their overall IPv6 transition strategy, program planning and technical solutions. Dale has been a participant of several DoD IPv6 technical working groups in the areas of Network Infrastructure, Information Assurance and Testing.  He has been a speaker at numerous events and panels and has written several articles on topics relating to IPv6 transition.  Prior to Auspex, he co-founded SynExi where he managed the daily operations of the company and focused on support technology transition efforts for government and commercial clients.  He was the Vice President of Consulting for Innofone.com where he headed the company's IPv6 consulting practice and East coast operations.  He has held positions of leadership for a variety of companies in the Government and Internet industry including Booz Allen & Hamilton, Verizon, SI International, Intrado and Teligent. Dale holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Old Dominion University, a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University and a Masters of Business Administration from California Coast University. 

 
Irwin Smietan
Vice President

Mr. Smietan retired from the federal government with 40 years of experience.  He was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 1980 and served as: the Director of Navy Information Systems Security Engineering; Assistant Commander of Technology, Acquisition, Logistics, and Engineering Support; Deputy Program Director/Technical Director of the Marine Corps Program Directorate; Technical Director of Research and Development Telecommunications Division; and Project Manager for Ship and Shore Telecommunications Systems.  After retiring, he returned to manage a number of efforts to transfer technology from the DoD to state and local Law Enforcement agencies.  He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering with graduate studies in both law and business management. 
 
 



Kristofer R. Smith, Ph.D.
Director of Cyber Technology


Dr. Smith has been supporting mission critical IT initiatives for over 16 years.  He has spent the past 12 years as a Defense consultant supporting various communication technology related efforts.  While at Booz Allen Hamilton he supported the Air Forces Joint Terminal Engineering Office (JTEO), the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Enterprise Wide Systems Engineering (EWSE) Group, and the Spectrum and Communications Policy Directorate of the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Chief Information Officers (CIO) Office.  While supporting the DoD CIO’s office as a senior technical advisor, the primary efforts he supported were in the areas of waveform consolidation, Unmanned Aircraft communications, Commercial Mobile Device (e.g., Apple iOS & Android OS devices) integration efforts, and Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Project 25 (P25) Land Mobile Radio (LMR) policy.

He directly supported the day to day activities of the DoD IPv6 Transition Office including the development of the DoD's IPv6 Transition Plan and multiple responses to congressional inquiries regarding the DoD's transition to IPv6.

Kristofer holds a Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The Catholic University of America.
